How do I determine the risk factors that I may be bugged?
The protection of private and confidential information is a major concern as technology advances and transmission of sensitive information has become common place.
Realistically assessing the risk factor is the most important issue in deciding whether professional TSCM assistance is required. Generally, individuals who have Influence, Money, Power, or access to Sensitive or Classified information are at the greatest risk.
Determining the risk factor is complex. Many methods and techniques are available to the eavesdropper. When someone is determined and committed to the task of intercepting your confidential information, they may use a wide variety of bugging methods.
To evaluate the risk factor, there are two (2) important questions that must be considered.
- Who would benefit from obtaining the information you control?
- What is the Real Value of the information you control? (Consider this question carefully)
After considering the above questions, reviewing the threat / risk level that you face, contact our office from a secure location and do nothing that might indicate to the eavesdropper that you are contracting our TSCM services.
